The Akron Zoo, just west of downtown Akron, has six diverse themed areas visitors have a chance to explore and experience over 700 animals and a variety of 90 different species. This particular zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is involved in breeding programs to save endangered creatures. There are 6 different themed areas that give visitors the opportunity to visit over 700 animals, including snow leopards, jaguars, endangered Humboldt penguins, Sumatran tigers and Komodo dragons. These 6 attractions- Legends of the Wild Komodo Kingdom, Jellies Rhythm in the Blue, Penguin Point Farmland, Wild Prairie and Lehner Family Zoo Garden, and Tiger Valley each represent specific regions of the world, making your trip a complete global adventure.
