BLUE JACKET OUTDOOR DRAMA

Expert horsemanship is exhibited as riders thunder across the stage in the portrayal of Blue Jacket. An outdoor drama in Xenia reveals the Ohio Valley as it appeared in the 1700s showing the struggles between the frontiersmen and the Indians as the Shawnee fought for the land of the Native Americans. The drama portrays Blue Jacket’s life. At age 17, Marmaduke Van Swearingen, a white boy, was adopted by the Shawnee and eventually became a respected War Chief of the Shawnee Nation. Blue Jacket is more than a drama, but a living legacy of the Ohio Valley.
