BLUE ROCK STATION
(fees for some activities)

This 38-acre sustainability project is home to Ohio's first "Earthship", a unique 2200 sq. ft. "living" home, built from used auto tires, cans, bottles, and assorted other recycled materials. The home incorporates time-honored building techniques such as thermal mass (using the earth to help heat the house), passive solar (the sun's rays), and adobe construction (using mud and straw) to create a comfortable and attractive place to live. In addition, you and your group can explore some other low impact choices. help build a living fence, learn about composting and vermiculture (letting the worms do the work),  or just enjoy a pleasant cup of tea in a peaceful setting. Tours are available along with gardens, llama trekking, woodland trails and more. Call for hours or to set up a tour. Blue Rock Station is located about halfway between Zanesville and McConnelsville, just off Route 60.  For complete information or directions, visit www.bluerockstation.com.
