One of Northern Ohio’s summer highlights is the popular Hunter Jumper Classic, held every July at the Chagrin Valley’s picturesque Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. In past years, the show has hosted more than 500 competitors from over 30 states and several foreign countries. The event is organized by the volunteers of the non-profit 501(c)(3) Chagrin Valley PHA (Professional Horsemen’s Association) Horse Show, Inc.
The highlight of the show is the Cleveland Grand Prix. The Cleveland Grand Prix has historic significance in the equestrian world because it was the first show jumping grand prix held in this nation, debuting in 1965. In addition to the two weeks of exciting horse show jumping competition, the show also features the following:Opening weekend competition highlighting riders from Northeast Ohio and the surrounding areas.
