CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT AT ZOAR VILLAGE:
BATTLE ON THE OHIO & ERIE CANAL

Experience the boom of artillery at Ohio’s largest and best Civil War event! Over 1,000 reenactors invade Zoar to battle on the Ohio and Erie Canal on Saturday and Sunday. Demonstrations throughout the village of cavalry, artillery, clothing, campfires, and the homefront entertain and inform each person who enters the battle zone. A row of sutlers and shops feature period and reproduction weapons, clothing, tools, books, and games.

A special feature of the event is the night battle – a truly unique way to experience gun and artillery fire. In addition, a period ball on Saturday night allows the visitor to play dress up and learn to dance like a nineteenth century lady or gentleman. Food and beverage are available throughout the village and all the historic buildings will be open and feature crafts and exhibits of Civil War life in Zoar.
