Center Of Science & Industry in Columbus

• Regular COSI exhibits Admission: $12.50, adults, age 13-59; $10.50, seniors, age 60+; $7.50, youth, age 2 to 12. Free admission for: Children, 23 months and younger; ASTC guests; Active military and Reservists (50 percent savings for spouse and immediate family members); Certified teachers; Little Brothers and Sisters when accompanied by Big Brother or Sister. Other discount savings include $1.00 off admission for AAA members, COESRA, Group discounts. Other admission prices depend on the exhibit. Extreme Screen movie prices: $7.50.
   

• Regular Operating Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open Monday for Columbus Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Closed for New Year's Day, Easter, July 3 & 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas.

COSI Columbus is one of the most respected science centers in the nation * serving more than 19 million visitors since 1964.  Over these five decades, COSI has continued to create programs and experiences that make science fun, while empowering and engaging visitors through hands-on discovery. The name “COSI” stands for Center of Science and Industry.   

At COSI, you’ll be dazzled, amazed and delighted as your family explores one incredible wonder after another. COSI features more than 300 interactive exhibits throughout our discovery-based and themed exhibition areas * Ocean, Space Gadgets, Life, little kidspace®, Progress and our outdoor Big Science Park and WOSU@COSI.  The exhibition areas provide experiences for all age levels to creatively combine science facts and learning through play.  Beyond the exhibits, you’ll find COSI’s hair-raising Electrostatic Generator Show, the only High-Wire Unicycle in the country, a seven-story Extreme Screen theater, a Science 2Go! retail store and the Atomicafe’ restaurant.  COSI also hosts world-class traveling exhibitions from other museums throughout the year.   

2009 will feature several new experiences at COSI including unveiling the Innovation Showcase where you can discover Central Ohio's most innovative engineers, designers and scientists and their life changing inventions.  See their scientific processes, technological challenges, concepts, designs, and final completed projects, which just might inspire future generations of scientists to make their own world changing discoveries. 

Also new for 2009, COSI will also unveil Labs in Life where Ohio State University and COSI  team up to create the Labs in Life exhibition showcasing the real work of university researchers focusing on health, nutrition, and physical activity. Imagine witnessing real health and medicine discoveries made before your very eyes, or the chance to participate in research studies that could benefit people around the world! 

COSI’s groundbreaking, award-winning education programs have touched more than six million teachers and students. These innovative outreach education programs are tailored to support national and statewide science curriculum and standards.  Unique programs such as Electronic Education and COSI On Wheels bring science learning to students throughout Ohio and across the country.  Camp-In®, an overnight experience for Girl Scouts that began 36 years ago, is now duplicated nationwide.
