Maumee Bay is Ohio’s newest state park and resort. It is a beautiful setting on the shore of Lake Erie and provides a wide-variety of activities for visitors to do for free. Among the beach front, meadows, woods, wetlands and wildlife there are hiking and bicycling trails, a nature center with many interactive exhibits and a wetland boardwalk stretching for miles. In addition, there is an enormous sandy beach on the Lake Erie shore and an inner coastal harbor which features 1,500-foot circular beech. Plus, an outdoor amphitheatre provides evening shows for free throughout the summer. Shows include a variety of musical performances, skits and plays, and magic. Last, there is also fishing and winter activities such as sledding, ice-skating and cross-country skiing available.
