The Marblehead Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes, has guided sailors safely along the rocky shores of Marblehead Peninsula since 1822. Today, the Marblehead Lighthouse State Park invites visitors to explore the fascination history of maritime commerce, daring rescues at sea, and the unique lifestyle of the lighthouse keeper as technology changed the profession over time. 

Tours are offered on summer weekdays after Memorial Day until the Friday before Labor Day. Tours led by the U.S. Coast Guard auxiliary may also be offered on the second Saturday of the month during June and July. Tours are also offered during the annual Autumn Lighthouse Festival on October 8^th, 2005. The Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society assists in staffing the on-site keepers house, which is also opened for tours.
