WOODCARVER SHOW
(Admission is free all day, with carousel rides for $1)

More than twenty talented local woodcarvers will exhibit, demonstrate and discuss their carving skills. Visitors will also have an opportunity to win a hand-carved wooden carousel animal, created by the museum’s volunteer carvers. For 2006, the volunteer wood carvers are hard at work on horse designed by the museum’s artist in residence, Kathleen Adam. Her distinctive style blends historic elements into a uniquely classic sculpture. This year the horse design is based on a Daniel Muller Indian Pony, with characteristics that set it apart from reproductions.  A delightful little ‘papoose’ gives the raffle horse a charming focal point.

This carousel horse will have an estimated value of more than $8,000 when finished and will be on display during the show. The raffle drawing will be held during the museum’s Toast to the Town special New Years Eve party on December 31st.  Tickets for the chance to win this carousel horse are $1.00 each, or six for $5.00 and may be purchased in the museum's gift shop.
