EASTER BUNNY TRAIN
(Fares are posted below) 

The popular Easter Bunny Train is a sell out every year! Each train travels past Haydenville before returning to Nelsonville. Along the way back, the train will stop at the Easter Bunny's secret hiding place where the egg hunt will take place! Areas for different age groups will be set up, and at the announcement to go, all of the kids will take off through their assigned areas and collect Easter eggs. Inside the eggs will be prizes and candy to be picked up at the prize tent. Once all of the activities are completed, everyone will re-board the train for the remainder of the trip back to the Nelsonville Depot. Tickets are $17/adult and $10/child. Tickets for children are the same price across each category. But they are broken up into age groups to help us properly place everyone in the appropriate egg hunt location. INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR

Athens' International Street Fair has evolved over time to become a local and regional favorite. The Street Fair, which runs from 11 am to 5 pm, is a collaboration of the university's international student groups and nonprofit community organizations. Typically, more than 30 organizations have booths at the International Street Fair to sell food, crafts etc. and there are stage performances throughout the day.

EASTER EGG HUNT at Young's Dairy Farm
(Admission is Free for this event only)

Young’s Dairy Farm celebrates Easter with its annual Easter Egg Hunt rain, snow or shine. Easter egg hunts are broken down into various age categories: 4 and younger, 5-7 years old and 8-10 years old. This tradition at Young’s Dairy has been going on for approximately 20 years and boasts having more than 4,000 hard-boiled and dyed eggs for the hunt. It also presents Barnabe, the mascot so bring a camera for pictures to remember.  

 

Young’s Dairy Farm is a working farm that is family owned and operated. They plan many events and activities for the whole family. Additional point of interest include; homemade ice cream, watching cows being milked, goat petting, two restaurants, bakery, gift shop, driving range, batting cages, miniature golf and more…for a fee.

BELLBROOK SUGAR MAPLE FESTIVAL

The Bellbrook Sugar Maple Festival is one of the first outdoor festivals of the year in southern Ohio. Nestled in the Little Miami River valley, historic Bellbrook is small town America at its most patriotic and picturesque. In addition to all of the expected arts, crafts, concessions, children's activities, and entertainment (this is serious bluegrass country), the Sugar Maple Festival includes a 5K run (9am Saturday), 10-mile bicycle time trial (8:30am Sunday), maple syrup cooking contest, dog show (6:30pm Friday) and a pie auction.

GEAUGA COUNTY MAPLE FESTIVAL

Join in the fun as Geauga County celebrates the coming of spring and the years' maple syrup crop. This festival takes place on Historic Chardon Square in the heart of Geauga County. For visitors looking for fun there are all the traditional things a festival offers; rides, games, food & great entertainment. What sets this event aside is all of the Maple related activities that take place over the weekend like the crowning of the Maple Queen, the "sap" run, bucket painting, Maple candy carving, Pancake Breakfasts (with pure maple Syrup), and pancake eating competitions.

 

Area sugar bushes also put their syrup to the test with syrup & maple candy judging. Winning syrups are also auctioned off as part of the weekend entertainment. Food choices include Maple candy, Maple corn, and the popular Maple stirs available at the Log cabin on the square. Grand parades take place on Saturday and Sunday and showcase a lot of the community businesses and events. MOHICAN WILDLIFE WEEKEND

It's getting to be a Springtime tradition in Mohican Country – a family-friendly weekend that celebrates the season with dozens of exciting and educational events at various venues in the Loudonville/Ashland/Mansfield area.

This year's Mohican Wildlife Weekend features bird-watching hikes with expert birders, as well as wildflower walks with guides who really know their wild onions, to say nothing of their fiddlehead ferns. You can learn about shore birds at Pleasant Hill Lake and see the majestic Bald Eagles soar above the spectacular Clearfork Gorge.

Children love the close encounters with raptors at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, an avian re-habilitation center where injured eagles, hawks and owls get a new lease on life. Special events are planned at Gorman Nature Center, Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors, Ohio Bird Sanctuary. Locations in the two-county area include Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm State Park, and the Loudonville Public Library.

Start your planting season out right, and join the annual Mill Hollow Herb Fair.  The Carriage Barn will be full of local vendors selling potted herbs and various herbal products.  Many food vendors will also be selling an array of appetizing treats.  There will be a variety of exciting activities for kids and adults; this event is fit for the whole family.  The children’s activity corner will be full of fun herb crafts as well as other kid-friendly garden ideas.  Adults can learn more about useful wild plants found in this area by joining a naturalist on a medicinal plant hike through Bacon Woods.  Don’t miss this great opportunity to buy some nice herbs and products while also learning more about gardening and herbal use.
