Famous Names The Same
Sent by Pat
When we were kids we played a little game whenever we were sitting
restless with no outlet for our roudiness.
We called it "Famous Names the Same". The idea was for someone to pick a
famous person to "be", then the others took turns trying to guess our
assumed identity by asking questions that could be answered with a yes or
no. For instance one question was always "Are you Male?" another was "Are
you Fictional?" The one who guessed the correct identity got to be the
next one to take on an assumed identity. The good part about the game is
anyone, of any age can play because an assumed identity can be anyone from
Abraham Lincoln to Yogi Bear. We learned a lot from these games - facts
about history, music, current events, actors, singers and even the tooth
fairy. It also kept us busy on long trips, in hospital waiting rooms and
on rainy days. Try it out and you'll be surprised how much you know, and
if you can't answer someone's question, its always fair to just say "I
don't know". If no one can guess the right identity then the "it" person
chooses another - after identifying who he was impersonating of course.

The object is to complete the alphabet first. As you see the letters on
road signs and license plates, you shout out your letter and point. Once a letter has
been claimed other players cannot use the same letter.

When you saw a one eye car (that means a headlight would have to be out) you
slapped the arm of the person next to you and said "Pudiddle."
Then you would have to show them the car your were calling on.
However, if the car turned out to be a motorcycle instead, the person you hit gets to hit you back twice. For "Slug Bug", the rules were the same except you hit the other person if you saw a Volkswagen Beetle.
