The Jefferson Depot, Inc. was formed to restore, maintain and promote the Lake Shore and Michigan southern Railroad Station and other historic buildings and engage in the education and instruction of its members and the general public on a non-profit basis.
This unique 120-foot station has ornate architecture of a bygone era, the exclusive "ladies waiting room," the operational wall-hung flush tanks, and the original potbelly stove. Take a stroll through the 1918 Tuscon Red Caboose and relive the old days.
See the restored 1848 "Church in the Wildwood" (the original first Methodist Episcopal church built in Jefferson) at the Depot Village. Next to the church is the early Jefferson firehouse with it's curved doors and shields on all the windows. The Jefferson railroad station has once again become a center of activities with educational programs, hands-on workshops, meetings, tours, reunions and weddings. An annual "Strawberry Festival – Craft Bazaar" and Antique Car Show the 3rd weekend in June, a Patriotic Celebration "Early America LIVE" the 2nd weekend in July, an "Old fashioned Williamsburg Christmas Party" in December, and monthly programs are all open to the public.

students. The Old Educator, Glenn Honeycutt, has more than 34 years
experience in education and has had a parenting column in The Piqua Daily
Call since 1997.

The Old Educator’s common sense approach and insight to the challenges of the parenting process and grooming self-reliant, responsible children has been well received. WOEA is one of nine District Associations that make up the Ohio Education
Association. The territory of WOEA is comprised of the following
counties: Auglaize, Darke, Greene, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and
Shelby. The organization advances the cause of education and teaching as a
profession by providing workshops for the improvement of instruction,
leadership training, political action, and membership promotion. WOEA
makes funds available to local associations for workshops and leadership

Little Thunder Kids Golf Course&

This golf course and learning center is a non-profit 501.c.3 northeast
Ohio 18-hole golf course designed and built for 6-12 year-olds. It covers
60 acres, including 62 sand-traps, four ponds and rolling greens providing
a real challenge for kids and adults alike. The course is like any golf
course except it is only half the distance. Yardage from tees to holes
range from 46 yards (the shortest on the course) to 310 yards (the longest
on the course). There is also a six-acre learning center where gold
instructions are provided. Group classes are also available for corporate
outings and fundraising events. Little Thunder is located in Madison, Ohio

Ruthie and Ed Lovejoy. They live in Montpelier, Ohio and are a wildlife
rehabilitation center covering four counties. They also provide permanent

actively involved with public education of caring for one of our most
precious resources - wildlife. Their goal is two-fold. First, to provide

Canton-Akron Scottish Heritage

An organization dedicated mainly to those who are interested in
Scotland, her heritage, history, and culture. Anyone can join.
They are a very active group and participate in community activities. For
example. the International Festival and the Football Hall of Fame kick-off
parade in Canton. They planned to participate in the Portage Lakes
July 4th Boat Parade, but their entry had to be scratched at the last
minute due to an unfortunate accident to their boat. CASHA also has
speakers who go out to speak at community functions such as Genealogical
groups and Ellet High School, Oasis. Members and guests, some
Scottish and some not, have frequent social activities. There
is a family picnic scheduled in August and a tour of Stan Hywet is on the
agenda Fall agenda. Previously, they participated in the Ohio
Scottish Games at Oberlin and the Brigadoon Celtic Festival at Burton.
They encourage members to support all the activities going on in the
Scottish community
here in Ohio and in nearby states. Dancers participate in contests
everywhere. Soon, they plan to start a Scottish Country Dance group.
In January, CASHA will sponsor a dinner dance in honor of the late Robert
Burns. This is a
Scottish tradition, but they do it like no other group around. It is
a costumed re-enactment of the first Burns Dinner, held in 1797. It
is being held in January of 2002 at the Glenwood Country Club in Canton.
CATALYST: For Cleveland Schools

bi-monthly newsmagazine modeled
after CATALYST: Voices of Chicago Reform, published monthly since 1990. We
have been created to document, analyze, and support school-improvement
efforts in the Cleveland Municipal School District. We want to raise the
level of discussion on what is good education. We will look at policies
and
programs with a critical eye, but strive for balanced, fair and
constructive coverage. In-depth reporting will draw on research and
illuminate models of success locally and nationally. The publication's
goal
is to give decision-makers, at the school, city and state levels,
information they need to transform the city schools. At the same time,
CATALYST is not an advocate for any particular point of view; rather, it
seeks to reflect all the voices and issues of Cleveland's school reform
efforts.
WHERE WE CAME FROM: Cleveland's CATALYST has grown out of
collaboration between the
Community Renewal Society, the 116 year old urban service organization
which publishes Chicago's Catalyst, and three foundations; The George Gund
Foundation, The Cleveland Foundation and the Joyce Foundation. The
Community Renewal Society also publishes The Chicago Reporter, and award
winning investigative newsletter that focuses on issues of race and
poverty. All three publications are editorially independent of CRS.
WHERE WE GO: CATALYST reaches over 6,600 parent activists,
teachers,
administrators, municipal and state policy makers, community activists,
and

ombudsman for the Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk. She attended Cleveland's

Elementary and Kennard Junior High schools before graduating from the
Hawkens Upper School in Gates Mills. CATALYST Publisher Linda Lenz wrote
about education for the Chicago Sun-Times and before that was an editorial
writer at the Chicago Daily News
