Stoney Ridge Winery

Tucked away in the far northwest corner of Ohio, Stoney Ridge Winery offers visitors a relaxing atmosphere away from the hassles of everyday life.   

Enter into the serene country vineyards traveling a narrow drive nestled among the rows and rows of manicured vines.  Approaching the uniquely designed winery, visitors are enchanted by the beautiful one-acre pond.  Upon entering the winery, guests are delighted by the rustic wood interior and cozy fieldstone fireplace.  Meander up to the tasting bar to sample the award-winning handcrafted wines sure to please most everyone's taste. 

Stoney Ridge Winery offers Vinifera, French Hybrid blends and seasonal fruit wines. Browse the gift shop including Amish cheeses, crafts, and gift baskets.  Feel free to leisurely enjoy a glass of wine or juice and a cheese appetizer on the patio overlooking the pond or beside the warm fireplace.

Debonné Vineyards has been growing its own grapes for four generations making it a true ESTATE winery and the vintners who grow the grapes in NE Ohio, with more than 120 cultivated acres in the Grand River Valley. This classic “European” family winery produces nationally recognized premium wines with quality control that starts in the vineyard and ends in the bottle. Enjoy year round activities such as hot air balloon races, concerts, car shows, Sunday Jazz Fests and wine & food events among others. You can also find Debonné wines in stores and restaurants statewide.

Plan your most special events like weddings and parties at the winery and choose from a varied selection of rooms and atmospheres to host your event. Individual wine tastings are available anytime and bus tours or large groups are welcome by reservation only to better accommodate your visit; for groups of 25 or more different tasting packages are offered to suit your needs. 

New this spring: Debonne vineyards presents CELLAR RATS BREWERY, Ohio's largest winery/brewery combination. This microbrew will feature the beer making process and guests will be able to sample selected brews in the new upstairs tasting room. A looking glass floor will allow visitors to look down into the brewery to view the crew hard at work.

Kinkead Ridge Estate Winery

The mission of Kinkead Ridge is to produce ultra-premium estate-bottled wine in Southern Ohio (Ohio River Valley appellation), exclusively vinifera, with great attention and care paid to cultural practices and classic winemaking techniques. The primary grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Viognier, Riesling. Roussanne and Sauvignon Blanc. Prior to planting their all-vinifera vineyard on a ridge-top in Ripley in 1999, the partners formerly owned a 40-acre Pinot Noir vineyard in Oregon. The site has world-class potential, with its deep unglaciated limestone soil, southeast aspect, and drainage to the Ohio River. All of our wines are made from grapes from our vineyard. They are available in restaurants and fine wine stores in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Oxford, Georgetown and Ripley. The winery opens to the public on holiday weekends, and the winegrower occasionally gives tours of the vineyard. The winery is also available for private tastings for groups.
 

Klingshirn Winery: Located in Avon Lake, Ohio, this winery was founded in 1935 by the Klingshirn family, is now operated by a third generation of Klingshirns. Back in 1935, due to the large grape surplus, Albert Klingshirn began producing wine commercially from the cellar of his home. Within five years, he was operating a small winery from the home. In 1955, his son, Allan, bought and expanded the operation. By 1978, it was four-times larger. Today, Alan’s son, Lee, serves as the winemaker. Lee has a degree in Viticulture and Ecology from Ohio State University. For hours and information, call 440.933.6666.
 

Lakeside Vineyard & Winery

Lakeside Vineyard & Winery currently offers seven wines ranging in style from dry, full bodied reds to semi-sweet whites. A refreshing blush and unique apple-cranberry are also available. Located less than 35 miles South-East of Cincinnati the winery is a leisure drive from most of South-Western Ohio and much of Northern Kentucky. Wine tastings, bottle sales and vineyard tours are offered. Bottle prices range from $8.00 to $12.00 each.
 

This quaint and enticing winery is located right in the heart of the Resort town of Geneva-on-the-Lake, situated in the Village's first fire station.   The name, Old Firehouse Winery, summarizes the atmosphere; an eclectic collection of fire paraphernalia and the fact that this was indeed the first Firehouse in Geneva-on-the-Lake.  Besides its historic charm, much of the enjoyment in visiting the Old Firehouse is in it’s setting: the Lake Erie Shoreline.  

The three partners in the Winery, Dave Otto, Joyce Otto, and Don Woodward never thought twice about their decision to start a new winery in Northeast Ohio, an area long known for outstanding wines and home to over a half-dozen wineries. 

"The area's reputation for fine wines, singular grapes, and the extraordinary wineries is precisely why we chose Northeast Ohio, " stated Dave Otto, managing partner.  "Without quality grapes readily available, you are not going to have a quality wine." 

But why The Old Firehouse Winery?  "You can thank my partner Don Woodward for that", answered Dave.   

A third generation volunteer firefighter, Don currently serves as a firefighter and EMT with the Geneva-on-the-Lake Fire Department and was the Assistant Fire Chief for a number of years.  His grandfather was one of the original seven firemen who started the Fire Department in 1924.  

"It really is an engaging story as to how this came to be the first firehouse," explains Woodward, one of the partners in the Winery.  "After fruitlessly battling blazes with a "bucket brigade," several local businessmen chipped in and ordered a 1924 Graham Brothers firetruck.  They now had a truck on the way, and had two immediate issues to address: a place to put the truck and who was going to be fire chief.  Emery Tyler offered the use of his barn.  Everyone was so grateful they promptly made him chief, " Don continued.    

"So in 1987, Dave, his mom Joyce, and myself looked at an old run down barn and a rusting, 1924 Graham Brothers firetruck, and decided we had our Winery."  The firetruck still silently stands guard at the front of the Firehouse.  

During the Summer months, the large, meandering patio and gazebo overlooking Lake Erie features a full service menu with dishes ranging from sandwiches to ethnic foods, to Barbecue chicken and ribs.  Old Firehouse is known not only for its fine food; almost of the eighteen wines have at one time won medals in statewide competition.  Nightly entertainment is featured seven nights throughout the summer.  

Lake Erie wines, such as Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, Cabernet, Riesling, White Catawba and Chambourcin are made right on premises. Five different fruit wines are also featured, such as Blackberry, Spiced Apple, Red Raspberry and Peach.   Prices range from $6.69 a bottle to $12.00 for the Premium "Firehouse Cellars" brand and $23.00 for our Ice Wines.  Special events, nightly Summer Entertainment, and its location in a marvelous Resort town have made this a popular Northeast Ohio attraction. 

Special events are featured throughout the year.  The most popular events include the Northeast Ohio Polka Fest in June, the Celtic Feis in August, the two day Clam Bake and Food Extravaganza in September, and the three day Christmas Party in December.  Call for dates and details.  Free tours are offered for groups of 15 or more, reservations are appreciated.    

Rainbow Hills Vineyards

Like life, art is multi-faceted. Studio of 5 Rings is a unique, multi-media venue of art. Combining Winery and Art Gallery, they bring art and wine together the way they were meant to be.

In addition to offering Cleveland some of the area's most talented artists, the Studio of 5 Rings also provides a selection of excellent wines made right at the gallery. The gallery provides a great setting to enjoy meaningful art works with a glass of fine wine. The connection between art and wine has been well established, and they have brought the two together under one roof.

Terra Cotta Vineyards is a family owned and operated vineyard that started as a dream. With approximately 2 acres of vines planted with help from family and friends the dream became a reality.  They celebrated their 5th anniversary September 2004. They have outside porches and a shelter building where visitors can enjoy their wines in addition to the gorgeous view and spectacular sunsets! Cookouts are held during the months of May through October by reservation.  Motorcoach tours are welcome. Wines range from dry to sweet and include Chambourcin, Seyval, Vidal, and Concord in addition to some blended wines.  Visitors can also enjoy wines from the inside tasting room.  Snacks, soft drinks, cheese and crackers are available for purchase.  Be sure to visit our gift shop during your visit.    Terra Cotta Vineyards welcomes groups for a unique wine tasting experience and also have a gift shop.
