The Akron Zoo, just west of downtown Akron, has six diverse themed areas visitors have a chance to explore and experience over 700 animals and a variety of 90 different species. This particular zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is involved in breeding programs to save endangered creatures. Animal exhibits feature grizzly bears, snow leopards, jaguars, endangered Humboldt penguins, Sumatran tigers and Komodo dragons.
