The Annie Oakley Festival in Greenville, Ohio, celebrates Annie Oakley’s humble beginnings and worldwide fame. The festival includes a shooting contest for young women and recognizes a new Miss Annie Oakley, who reigns throughout the year. There will be a fast-draw contest, car show, old-time melodrama, bus tours of the historically rich county, a talent show, competitive family-fun games, and a fabulous western art show, featuring knife throwing, whip cracking, and a variety of entertainment. There will also be a petting zoo, live musical entertainment, a Buffalo Bill impersonator and historian, daily Annie’s story time for children, food, a flea market, and antique and craft vendors. Be sure to come out early for the parade in downtown Greenville on Saturday at 10am.
