Cy Young Days Festival in Newcomerstown, Ohio celebrates the exhilarating, enjoyable game of baseball and an Ohioan named Cy Young — perhaps the greatest pitcher of all-time. He lived over 100 years ago. Today, the greatest professional pitching honor is to win the Cy Young Award. This festival honors him and his love for his game. A special guest, usually a retired ballplayer or past Cy Young award winner such as Gaylord Perry and Vida Blue signs autographs and is honored as the Grand Parade Marshall. Some of the proceeds from Cy Young Days will benefit the Cy Young Youth League, a baseball and softball league for hundreds of kids.
