The Elm Road Triple Drive-In Theatre in Warren, Ohio, opened in August 1950 as a single-screen outdoor cinema and gradually expanded, adding a second screen in 1979 and a third in 2005. It now accommodates up to 900 cars and stands as the only triple-screen drive-in theater in Ohio.
Visitors can enjoy double features on all three giant screens, with movie audio broadcast in FM stereo directly to car radios. Portable radios are available to rent for those without built-in options. Guests can also take advantage of a wide range of concessions, including fresh pizza, burgers, chili-cheese fries, nachos, sundaes, shakes, and hand-dipped ice cream. Covered patios and picnic tables provide a relaxed space to eat before showtime. While outside food is allowed, a food permit is required per vehicle to help support the theater’s operations.
The same family has operated Elm Road Triple Drive-In since its founding. It continues to evolve with modern upgrades, including the installation of digital projection in 2013. Special events throughout the season, such as live music, car shows, pony rides, and themed weekends, add to its appeal as a full-service entertainment destination. It offers more than just movies under the stars.
