Fork and Finger Restaurant in Portsmouth, Ohio, is a local favorite shared with me on a recent visit there. The vibe: Family-owned, homemade, classic American comfort food. My kinda place. When I was asked if I wanted dessert, I hesitated because either my grandma (imagined) or someone from another table whispered, “The pie is to die for!” Afterward, you’ll want to walk some of that off. I recommend strolling through the Historic Boneyfiddle District to shop at the unique Mom-and-Pop shops and boutiques.
