The National Veterans Memorial and Museum is here today because of John Glenn, a former Ohio Senator and Marine Colonel. This site now honors the men and women who served under his leadership. In addition to the significant names and dates of soldiers and battles, the museum shares intimate belongings and pain that so many veterans carry.
