The Ohio Bird Sanctuary near Mansfield is an education and rehabilitation center for Ohio’s songbirds and birds of prey. It provides a safe haven for orphaned and injured birds nationwide. Visitors can encounter thirteen of Ohio’s birds of prey, including the Bald eagle, the Barn Owl, and the Peregrine Falcon. One of the sanctuary’s popular attractions for visitors is the Songbird Aviary. This attraction showcases a wide range of bird species at one time. Visitors can feed mealworms to certain birds for .25/cup and get a hands-on experience with the birds. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary educates the public about the environment and encourages them to be stewards of their natural surroundings. The Sanctuary also offers eight scenic hiking trails on its 90 acres of forest and marsh near the Clearfork Reservoir, as well as a butterfly garden.
