The Tour de Donut is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Troy, Ohio, and will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026. As one of Ohio’s largest one-day bicycle events, the Tour de Donut draws approximately 2,000 cyclists from across the country and Canada.
The Tour de Donut is a unique bicycle event in which participants’ ability to eat donuts is just as important as their ability to ride their bicycles. During this timed bicycle event, riders stop at donut shops along the course. For each donut the rider eats (and keeps down), five minutes will be deducted from their ride time. The Glazer, a special donut stop, will return by popular demand. Each donut eaten at this stop is worth a ten-minute deduction in ride time.
There are four distances offered for the Tour de Donut: 10, 16, 32, & 64 miles. The 10-mile bike path ride is perfect for beginners or riders who want to participate but do not feel comfortable riding on the road with other riders because of traffic.
A free children’s bike race will take place at 8 a.m. on N. Market Street. Anyone interested can register on the day of the event at The Rec parking lot in downtown Troy. All participating children will receive a free T-shirt, a finisher medal, and as many donut holes as they can eat.
Due to packet pickup on Friday, August 21, downtown Troy will become the hub for all donut and music lovers as Troy Main Street, the City of Troy, and the Miami County Visitors Bureau host Donut Jam. This FREE, family-friendly event is designed to welcome riders and residents to beautiful downtown Troy. This event kicks off at 5pm with musical performances, children’s activities, the DORA and the popular shops and restaurants in downtown Troy.
Saturday’s festivities will begin early with packet pickup until 8am and everyone will be gearing up for the 8am children’s race and the 8:30am start of the Tour de Donut. Saturday will also include additional children’s activities, a stage show by COSI-Center of Science and Industry, and a visit from the Columbus Zoo, where attendees can get up close and personal with the animals. The Cherry Street Local Farmers Market will also be running Saturday morning from 9am-12pm. This weekend is sure to be sweet!
